Glenn van Zutphen

Glenn van Zutphen is a career international journalist and the Founder & CEO of VanMedia Group Pte Ltd, a worldwide media consultancy. Over 20 years, he has coached some 3000 high-performing business leaders, journalists, government officials across ASEAN, AMEA, North America, Europe – to deliver confident, credible, and clear spoken & written communication across digital & news media platforms, TV, podcasts, conferences, and business meetings. He has hosted and facilitated many hundreds of programs for large and small groups.

Glenn also hosts the “The Saturday Mornings Show” national radio show every weekend on MoneyFM 89.3, Singapore’s only business-news radio station. The program is streamed internationally and podcasted as well.

Glenn is a recognized communications expert, keynote speaker, and meeting facilitator.

As a professional journalist for more than 30 years, Glenn has worked in print, radio, television, and online news based in the US, Japan, Switzerland, Hong Kong, and Singapore. His work over the decades has appeared in scores of digital online, print, and broadcast media outlets.

As both the Regional News Editor for CNBC Asia/Pacific and Anchor and Producer at CNN International, he covered stories ranging from the Balkan War and Millennium celebrations to the War Against Terror, the 2004 Asian Tsunami, Hong Kong’s 1997 Handover, and various global financial meltdowns. While based in Tokyo, he was a television and radio broadcaster for public station NHK (Japan Broadcasting Corp.) including producing and hosting the first, regular English-language TV broadcasts of Japan’s National Sport, Sumo wrestling in the early 1990s.

An active writer, Glenn co-authored the business marketing book “Happy Customers Everywhere” (2016), contributed to “The American Journey in Singapore” (2017), and wrote the introductory chapter in eight editions of the “Living in Singapore Reference Guide” (2008-2025). He also was the inaugural recipient of the East-West Center’s “21st Century Outstanding Service Award” (2016) for his volunteer work across the Asia-Pacific region.

Glenn currently sits on the East-West Center Alumni Board (Honolulu, HI). He previously served on the boards of: AmCham Singapore, the Asian American Journalist Association (Asia), The Foreign Correspondents Association Singapore (President), The American Association of Singapore (President), and the Atlanta Press Club (President).

Glenn holds a Master’s Degree in Digital Media Management from Teesside University (UK)/Hyper Island Singapore and Bachelor of Arts in Journalism from the University of Southern California.

He and his family have been Singapore Permanent Residents since 2005.
